FRAGMENTS OF A CONVERSATION WITH A COUNTERFEITER
Artist: Diego Tonus
Crutator: Huib Haye van der Werf
The project Fragments of a Conversation with a Counterfeiter by Diego Tonus, curated by Huib Haye van der Werf, and promoted by Jan van Eyck Academie Maastricht and STROOM Den Haag, is winner of the third edition of Italian Council (2018), a competition ideated by the Directorate General for Contemporary Art and Architecture and Urban Peripheries (DGAAP) – organ of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, to promote Italian contemporary art in the world.
The series of artworks presented for this occasion will enter the permanent collection of the MAMbo Museum, Bologna (Italy).
The presentation of the works in collaboration with STROOM Den Haag and Jan van Eyck Academie Maastricht was articulated in a series of separate events taking place throughout the 3-month period of the exhibition in which the works will be exhibited in selected public and private venues within The Hague and Maastricht, each representing different types of power.
The events aimed to activate a dialogue with the city and their districts as platforms for their citizens, and the presence of the international organizations operating from those centres.
